Staten Island man accused of killing his parents claims he was 'set up'

The Staten Island man accused of viciously butchering his parents in a blood-spattered frenzy told The Post in an exclusive interview today that "I was set up."

"All I know is I went home and found my family dead," Eric Bellucci, 30, said today in his first-ever media interview since the shocking double-murder on Oct. 13.

But Bellucci didn't say why -- if that was true -- he never called police and told them his parents were dead, or why he responded to that discovery by fleeing the country.

"All I got to say is that I was set up," said the brilliant Williams College and Stuyvesent HS grad, who spoke to a Post reporter at the prison ward of Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, where he is being held without bail.

A diagnosed schizophrenic, Bellucci in the past claimed to be doing intelligence work for the CIA and Israel's Mossad agency,

Wearing a lime-green Department of Corrections jumpsuit, Bellucci repeatedly pulled back his long, unkempt hair as he warily eyed the unexpected visitor sitting before him.

"I don't know him," Bellucci told a nearby correction officer. "I don't know him. Is he secure?"

"Did my family send him?" Bellucci nervously asked.

When he calmed down, and sat down, Bellucci was asked what he knew about the death of his parents, Arthur and Marian Bellucci, who were discovered stabbed to death by his sister late Wednesday in their upscale Annadale home.

As cops were scouring the blood-drenched crime scene for clues and recovered a knife, Eric Bellucci was on a plane bound for Tel Aviv, Israel, which he had boarded at Newark International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

Bellucci was nabbed Friday morning in the Tel Aviv airport after returning there and trying to buy a ticket for China.

He was flown back to the US last weekend, and was arraigned Monday in Staten Island on murder charges -- hours after his parents were buried.

Bellucci's claims today to The Post that he had not killed his parents, but merely discovered them already dead, were his first public statements in the case.

After saying that, he said he did not want to make any more comment, then got up and walked from the room.
