NYPD Arrested NY Mobster 'Dapper Dan' John Gotti For 'driving with tinted windows'

In his grandfather's footsteps: Carmine Agnello Jr. was arrested yesterday

Like father, like grandson.

Carmine Agnello Jr., who called ‘Dapper Dan’ John Gotti ‘grandfather,’ was arrested yesterday for allegedly driving with tinted windows and a suspended license.

The 25-year-old former reality star was caught around 3pm in Queens, New York.

Sources say they noticed a car was missing its front plates and had tinted windows.

That’s when officers stopped Agnello and discovered that he was allegedly driving on a suspended licence. He was taken to a precinct in Jamaica, Queens.

Only hours later, a friend came by the precinct to pick him up.

Agnello was featured in the short-lived A&E reality television series Growing Up Gotti, along with his mother Victoria and two brothers Frank and John.

The show was booed by many critics. One even went so far as to write: ‘Victoria Gotti has the warmth of an ice pick and her sons the charm of well, thugs.

Agnello’s grandfather was one of the most notorious mobsters in New York, earning the nickname ‘Dapper Don’ for his flamboyant style.

The head of the Gambino crime family was convicted of 13 murders in 1992, and was sentenced to life in prison. He died there in 2002.

His son John A. Gotti was tried between 2002 and 2009 for racketeering charges, but every case ended in a mistrial, earning him the nickname Teflon Jr. for his ability to evade charges.

A biopic chronicling the Gotti family has been in the works for some time, with big names like John Travolta and Al Pacino tied to it.
