Woman sexually assaulted in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG - The NYPD is trying to catch a man who attacked a woman outside her parking garage in Brooklyn.

The incident happened around 4:20 a.m. on New Year's Day in the Williamsburg section.

Police say the victim was walking on Maspeth Avenue when she was approached by the suspect who grabbed her and pulled her into a parking garage.

According to investigations, the suspect simulated a firearm and told the victim to keep quiet. The suspect then sexually assaulted the victim.

He is described as a 20-25 year old black man, approximately 5'8, 150lbs., and thin build. He was wearing a grey zip up jacket with a hood and a dark baseball hat.
