Monsey - URGENT Message: Parents be aware of driver who tried luring CHILDREN

A Guten Erev Yom Tov!

As I reported several weeks ago there is a URGENT message From Rabbi Yakov Horowitz.

Now Ramapo police are asking for the public’s help:

Ramapo police were investigating a report that a driver tried to lure CHILDREN into his car.

A report states that the car was spotted outside Rabbi Schabes shul Congregation Knesses Yisroel 698 Union Road, There is also a report that the man was spotted walking on Manchester Drive, However both incidents took place on Shabbos and so no one contacted the police immediately.

The parent of one of the girls told an officer that a silver car came down Sandy Brook Drive at about 4 p.m. Friday and the driver told the girls, “Get in the car,” Detective Lt. Mark Emma said Tuesday.

The girls ran into the house, Emma said.

Emma said detectives have not yet spoken to the girl, 4, or her 7-year-old friend. The report came from the mother, who spoke to her 4-year-old, he said.

“We’re viewing this as a suspicious incident at the moment, not an attempted abduction,” Emma said.

Police spoke to residents in the area after the incident was reported about five to six hours later, Emma said.

Officers found one silver car, but the owner proved he had been at a work-related meeting, Emma said.

Emma said police have gotten several reports of adult drivers talking to young children, but the descriptions run the gamut of race, ethnicity, including people in religious dress, and body type.

Anyone with information can call the Ramapo Police Department at 845-357-2400.
